How to get IP address of a Host in Java?

Description:

You can get IP address of any host by using InetAddress class. By calling getByName() method with host name as parameter, it returns InetAddress object. On this object you can call getHostAddress() method to get the IP address of the given host.

Code:
package com.myjava.ip;

import java.net.InetAddress;
import java.net.UnknownHostException;

public class MyIpByHost {

    public static void main(String a[]){

        try {
            InetAddress host = InetAddress.getByName("www.java2novice.com");
            System.out.println(host.getHostAddress());
        } catch (UnknownHostException ex) {
            ex.printStackTrace();
        }
    }
}

Transient and Volatile Modifiers
Transient: The transient modifier applies to variables only and it is not stored as part of its object's Persistent state. Transient variables are not serialized.

Volatile: Volatile modifier applies to variables only and it tells the compiler that the variable modified by volatile can be changed unexpectedly by other parts of the program.
Famous Quotations
The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance; it is the illusion of knowledge.
